Barb and I will be driving from Seattle, WA to Bemidji, MN. Then we’ll link up with a bike tour group from Cycle of Life Adventures and I’ll bike down the entire length of the Mississippi River (about 2000 miles) to New Orleans while Barb drives to visit a number of Native American sites along the way. In New Orleans we’ll meet up with my sister, Susan Weaver, who will fly up from Florida for a short visit. Then Barb and I will drive back from New Orleans to Seattle. It’s been an incredible journey. 9,300 miles by car (thank you, Barb). Just over 1800 miles by bike. Several adventures, but no accidents. Lots of new friends.
The only serious change of plans was that my sister decided not to join us in New Orleans after all, mostly because of worries about Covid and damage from Hurricane Ida.
There are grumblings that we might do another epic bike trip next year. If so I’ll update this page so you can find the blog …
